Je viens de découvrir Patapage. C’est quoi ce truc encore ? Quel drôle de nom ! Ne vous fiez pas au nom justement, Patapage vous permet d’étendre les fonctionnalités de votre site Web, via l’ajout de boutons. Parmi ces fonctionnalités, de nombreuses fonctionnalités sociales qui donnent une plus grande place à vos lecteurs.
Au choix :
- PataWiki : « Let users contribute additional contents to your pages. For each page your users will be able to contribute contents, eventually after moderation. »
- Comments : « Let users post page-specific comments, in list or tree-like fashion, eventually after moderation. »
- Image Gallery : « Add a gallery to your page from the most popular online image services. »
- Forms : « Add forms to your web site – contacts, feedback etc. You will also be able to design your own forms. »
- Rate : « Add the possibility of rating page contents, products, presentations, and more. You will get the average and number of ratings received – almost cheat-proof. »
- Tweet : « Add several ways to integrate your page with feedback and news from Twitter streams. Also post your pages as links on Twitter. »
- Window : « Add windows on your pages. »
- Google Search : « Search in your pages with Google’s engine. »
Et bientôt dans les bacs de Patapage, les services Facebook (poster une page sur Facebook), Video (ajout de vidéos dans une page), Boards (système de notes) et iPhone (site compatible avec l’iPhone).
Comment profiter de tout ça ? En créant un compte (valable pour autant de sites qu’on veut) et en profitant de la version Beta. En effet, quand Patapage ne sera plus en Beta, il deviendra payant (au bout de 30 jours) ; il faudra prévoir de payer la somme de 26 euros par mois. Personnellement, je trouve que c’est cher même si Patapage vaut le détour. A tester ?!

Sinon c’est vrai que c’est cher … et puis via des plugins wordpress (pour ceux qui ont un blog ou cms basé sur wordpress bien sur), on peut faire tout ça facilement (et même plus encore …)
Non, ça n’en est pas un. Le jour où ça arrivera, si ça arrive, je le dirai.
Ca doit venir du style de l’article… C’est vrai qu’avec WordPress, on a du potentiel, mais il faut reconnaître que là, c’est le côté « tout en un » qui est séduisant. Et pas de contrainte de platforme surtout…
Patapage integrates with web sites in general, non just with blogs. It adds also a blog-like functionality to a simple static web site. (Sorry, I read French well, but writing…)

Another question: Patapage is actually in Beta. When will Beta end?
For the planned price you can use the same Patapage account for quite a number of sites. The 5000 contributions limit is just to exclude from the base price something like a major national online newspaper, which is the only one which may pass such limit, and which would use all our bandwidth. We are also considering a lower yearly price, maybe it would be more practical for users.
Consider that the functionality now offered will be greatly expanded when becoming a pay service: like the contents part will support a full wiki logic, which new pages creation « on the fly » and similar.
We hope to get out of beta in first quarter 2010; data inserted in beta will be preserved when going final.
